Some would say....

Check it out all you checker outers!

Amir says I will make you all worried about me.  I said, they know what a klutz I am.  I must share in the glory that are my injuries! When I came home the first thing Amir said was "you have to be careful."  Really?  Really!?!  Is that what I should do?  Take care?  "Good advice, too late" (A Tim Hawkins reference.  Look it up on you tube)
Amir was a sweetie though and cleaned and bandage it.  He was also kind enough to take this picture.  My little old lady said I should be nicer to the ground.  I am surrounded by such sympathetic, helpful people!

Father's Day

Amir does not know about candy cards.  I made him one and it was funny trying to get him to read it.  I kept telling him, "you have to read the candy".  Yes, I had to stretch to make some of the things fit, but, it's candy.  What are you expecting?  Walt Whitman?  "O Candy my candy.  Our fearful trip is done.  My mouth has weathered every snack, the prize I bought has come.  The end is near, the TV I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady glow, the sitcom grim and daring. But O heart, heart, heart, o the dripping drops of sugar, where on my chest the junk food lies, and I am cold with rigor."  What?  It's an American classic.

In case you can't read it, it says "Dear Mr. Amir, you big hunk!  Just because you are not a pop yet, doesn't mean you should be sour on Father's Day.  It also doesn't mean you should get zero.  You are my lifesaver.  So score one hundred grand.  You deserve only joy.  Love, from your sweet gummy bear, Molly."

Like I said, a bit of a stretch.  But he really liked it.  (And no, I did not eat it for him.  He has kept it in his office and enjoyed a late night nibble or two.)

For Amy

So this is for my sister.  Some background.  I wanted fresh herbs and bought a little pot to grow them in.  The plants outside are mad I think.  I have panted the cilantro twice, and it is now growing ( a little. We'll see if they survive.)  I have planted the basil three times and it has yet to grow.
Now the pot inside has gone crazy.  I think it is because it lives in the office with Amir.  Plants like Amir.  They grow for him. I think that is why the plants outside are unhappy.  They are not with Amir.  I would be unhappy if I was not with Amir, so I sympathize with the plants.
That is a 12 inch ruler to give a little perspective on the size of the plants.
Like I said, they are very happy (and tasty).

Memorial Day Fun

Amir took Memorial Day off.  (I almost fainted.) And we spent it with a friend of ours in Santa Fe.  We went hiking in the mountains with actual, honest to goodness trees!!  And then we went shopping at the outlet stores.  Amir made a haul and got himself some snazzy new clothes.  And I got the cutest most comfy high heels EVER.  I do not wear high heels as a rule.  They hurt.  But these felt good on my feet even after two hours of hiking.  Now those are good shoes.
Amir and our friend Caitlin on the  Chamisa Trail.

See!  There is green in New Mexico.
I love all the different shades of green.
Amir climbing rocks.

Amir caught us a lizard.  He was very cute.  And so was the lizard.

Comfy shoes.  That's how I roll.

More stuff

I called my sister to blogpentence, so i feel i must do the same.
For mom, here are pics of the temple, taken by Amir. (A little old, but still pretty) Amir has planted really pretty orange/ peach roses all over the temple.   Of course i did not have my camera last time I was there. I hang my head in shame.

Now some pics of Amir and I (since everyone has been whining that there are no pictures of me.)

We went to the Rio Grande to walk today.  There are actually TREES in Albuquerque.  And there was SHADE too.  I know, right?  And crazy geese that Amir so wants.  So adding to the dog, chickens and goats we will someday have, Amir now wants geese.  Do geese get along with chickens?

There were mulberry trees next to the river.  Not bad berries actually.  Amir said the Persian Mulberries are much bigger and sweeter.  Of course they are.  But we live in New Mexico.  We're just greater full any trees grow here.

The mighty Rio Grande.  Well....sort of mighty.

This guy was Amir's favorite.  He was definitely the alpha male.  He would chase and attack anyone who tried to get his food.  They really are big birds.  I can see how geese can be used as guard-birds.  They're nasty little suckers!

Amir kept trying to feed them twigs since we had neglected to bring bread.

A cute little ducky taking a nap.  Again, Amir sooooo wanted to pet him.

Amir is done with spring semester.  He has a few weeks off then he's back to classes in July.  The man works so hard.  At least there is an end in sight.

First..here are pics of Amir's project for which i helped make trees.  There are over 70 trees.  I must really really love this man.
He got a B+.  Yey!  (He said no one got an A) So my honey bunches is awesome!  But you already knew this.  He married me.  The man has impeccable taste.  :)

You can't really tell by the pictures, but it's a plaza with a tree covered walk way.  Maybe you can sorta see it.  The thing in the upper right corner is supposed to be a fountain.  No matter what he did, it kept looking like a toilet.  Oh well. The bottom pic makes me thing of lions and tigers and bears...oh my.

Now on to something for Betsy.  We have very drafty doors so i wanted to get some draft guards.  They are 19.99 at Bed bath and Beyond, but i am a huge cheapskate.  So i went to home depot and got pipe insulator, 6 feet for 97 cents (i bought 2), and used old pants to cover them in fabric.  Et voila!!!  Draft stoppers!

Amir's pajama pants...the gift that keeps on giving.

Also, i have been trying for two weeks to fix Amir's printer.  I have learned how to disassemble and reassemble a printer.  I changed the print head, and have cleaned it.  And now i have decide i shall run it over with my car.  Or maybe drop it from a very high window.  Hmmm....

I must say, Amir always wants to fix things himself.  (I would rather pay someone.)  So he is always forcing me to stretch waaaaaay beyond the abilities i think i have.  But i have now learned how to disassemble a laptop and replace a mother board.  I can clean a print head in or out of the printer.  I can assist in laying a tile floor, or shower. (I could probably do it on my own, but i would rather be the dear assistant.)  I learned how to move ridiculously big rocks (we're talking 500+ pounds) with logs.
I have learned more things, but you get the picture.

Vegas

Trip to Vegas to see the fam.  Lots of talking, lots of eating and far too little sleep.

I love that they're wearing similar shirts.
Nature or nurture?

It's sometimes scary to realize how much like your parents you actually are. "Mirror Mirror on the wall...i am my mother after all."

They've been married longer than I've been alive!!
Rex and Gina

The trip was nice, but too short.  Always is. There's just never enough time to visit and chat and just be, ya know. I personally think most of eternity is going to be spent visiting.  And i still think it won't be enough time!!
